Stage 2
OUT OF THE NEST
I pulled the last baby tonight.  Somehow my hen gets the leg bands off of the babies if I put them back into the nest so I did not replace the baby after I banded it.

GETTING THEIR LITTLE BRACELETS
Jill's Mother helped and took these pictures while Jill shows us the  process of the same chick getting his band on.  Thank you for your help Jill's Mom we are all learning so much from Jill and her chicks

This is the same baby going through the banding process.  I just read somewhere the other day to extend the little leg backward and the two front toes will point and make it easier to get the band started.  This technique worked very well for me as you will see in the pictures.
The two oldest chicks are feathing out.  The oldest is a girl and the second is a boy.  Time to start picking names

Do you think these little ones know it is time to eat Do you suppose they are hungry...:-) Look at the little one squsihed in the bottom in the second picture..See the oldest one..She is the only one looking green yet..I would love to go and get her. I would fly to California in a heartbeat for that spunky little girl. Bright eyed. sassy and full of live. Reminds me of a certain little girl I know.
Before Dinner let's check  on our oldest and youngest
